DESIGN ENGINEER
Wyoming, MN
JOB SUMMARY: Create, design, and develop new innovative products from concept to final manufacturing. Enhance and redesign existing products to improve quality and production efficiencies. Determine feasibility of designs considering marketability, cost ratios and time limitations. Provide cost effective and innovative solutions for product manufacturing. Perform all aspects of engineering including design engineering, drawing creation, reverse engineering, materials selection, research analysis, documentation, mathematical modeling and trouble shooting. Interface with customers and vendors on a regular basis to ensure Xccent’s commitment to customers. Work closely and respectably with all internal teams (production, quality, accounting, shipping, . . .) to ensure and maintain teamwork.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Conceptualize, design, and create innovative new products and product improvement redesign from concept through production.
- Design, research and build product prototypes ensuring products meet marketing feature requirements, industry and company standards, and develop cost effective innovative solutions/results.
- Research and analyze designs using stress and tolerance analysis, load calculations, and other statistical methods. Re-test and redesign through all stages to prepare product for manufacturing.
- Work with customers and suppliers to research new materials, processes and aggressive technologies to meet new product goals and schedules.
- Ensure detailed design and process documentation is complete, accurate and imported into Xccent systems on a timely basis. Including review of ECR and creation of ECO for changes.
- Provide technical expertise and develop new tooling and fixtures for Xccent and customers use. Trouble shooting problems as they arise.
- Review customer and internal prints and quotes; participate in setting up job routers and bill of material.
- Prepare purchase orders for parts, raw materials and supplies for building molds, fixtures and other parts.
- Manage and create Bill of Materials.
- Coordinate priorities to ensure deadlines are met and provide clear and constant communication with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Comply with all Xccent safety requirements. Identify and report all safety problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of solid proven experience in the design and development of new products from conception through production. Non-powered motion experience a plus.
- Expert working knowledge of 3D CAD software, ideally Solidworks; AutoCAD a plus. Cosmos or Solidworks Simulation experience also a plus.
- Experience and thorough understanding of manufacturing operations, preferably PVC molding, coating, powder coating and metal fabrication operations. Complex sheet metal design and tube bending design experience a plus.
- Excellent proven technical writing skills used in the development of installation manuals, ISO, and all other detailed engineering required documentation.
- ISO 9001 certification and process experience a plus.
- Ability to install prototype commercial playground equipment.
- The ability to translate sketches product specifications and requirements into effective product designs, including development, prototyping, costing and documentation, in a timely fashion.
- Superior communication skills and abilities, including presentation, verbal, and written to communicate at all levels internally and externally in an effective manner. Working knowledge of communication tools such as emails, spreadsheets, project planners, etc.

Shipping/Receiving Team Lead
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: Material Handlers GRADE LEVEL: 10
JOB ROLE: To supervise shipping and warehouse to ensure on-time delivery and accuracy of customer shipments and inventory control.
- JOB FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate with production on availability of parts and customer delivery dates.
- Communicate delivery schedule changes to customers.
- Ensure all shipments are packaged and loaded properly and arrive in good condition.
- Set up packaging instructions for all parts, including how parts are palletized, boxed, banded and wrapped.
- Coordinate with customers on shipping specifications/needs, including negotiating third party shipping alternatives.
- Receive, confirm and record all shipments and material transactions.
- Supervise Material Handlers, conduct performance reviews, disciplinary actions and training.
- Investigate and pursue freight claims with the assistance of the Quality Manager.
- Cycle counting, and inventory accuracy & integrity.
- Continuously study the effectiveness of the shipping department to improve operations.
- Ensure that safe procedures are used within assigned area. Report and correct all safety problems and ensure cleanliness of working environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 5 yrs experience in shipping & receiving within the US and internationally.
- A minimum of 3 yrs of supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to process all paperwork associated with freight.
- Ability to utilize computers, shipping software and system software.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and pass Xccent physical and drug screening.
- Ability to be Xccent certified as a forklift operator

TEMP FULL-TIME PRODUCTION OPERATORS NEEDED
The positions listed below are temporary full-time positions. However, qualified candidates may be considered for regular full-time positions depending on the skill, knowledge, and demonstrated work ethic and abilities. All candidates for the jobs listed below will be brought onboard through Masterson Personnel for a minimum of 90 days.

Xccent has opportunities for entry level and experienced production workers for our PVC molding, coating, powder coating and metal fabrication operations.
Currently we have openings in our playground equipment manufacturing as well as our Medical & Industrial products division.
POSITION SUMMARY: Assist in the operation of a variety of production ovens in the production of quality parts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare parts for dipping, wash or coating. Help Production Set-up Operators prepare and change production runs as directed.
- Pack and label parts into boxes weighing up to 75 pounds and transfer to pallets or storage.
- Take work direction from Set-up Operators and to ensure maximum production is achieved with the highest level of quality.
- Clearly understand and ensure the requirements for each of the products being produced.
- Clearly understand the proper aesthetic specifications and how to identify conformance to those specifications on all jobs prior to running.
- In-process inspection, including trimming parts with a utility knife.
- Report all rejects immediately to Set-Up Operator. Pass on information to the next shift as needed.
- Use addition, multiplication, subtraction, division, and decimal equivalents to interpret dimensional specifications in all jobs running.
- Assist Operator with daily preventative maintenance and completion of internal setups.
- Assist with process improvement documentation, implementation and creation of work standards.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Comply with all Xccent safety requirements such as safety glasses, sleeves and safety shoes. Identify and report all safety problems to supervisor immediately.
- Learn documentation procedures and participate in filling out production sheets, barrel tags, and job transactions properly and timely.
- Ensure work area remains neat and organized during production. Ensure work area is clean at the end of the shift. Clean ovens and other equipment on a weekly basis or as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Prior experience in same or similar manufacturing operations.
2. Have the ability to lift 75 pounds.
3. Have the ability to obtain a forklift operator certificate.
4. Proven effective communication skills including the ability to read and write.
5. Ability to work as a team and willingness to learn other areas/departments.
6. Proficient in shop mathematics.
7. Demonstrated ability to use part counting scale. |
